Bracket Update is Under This Post
Not sure what to expect tonight. I have been paying attention to too much basketball all day.
As always, the summary is here. http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Meet_Kevin_Johnson
What’s worse? Watching one of your final four teams almost get bounced? Or learning your favorite character on LOST (Tom) isn’t exactly who you thought he was? I see now why Kate, wasn’t his type.
I will start with the bad. I am not the biggest fan of all of the super natural elements taking place. That whole scenario that doesn’t allow Michael to kill himself is dumb. He should have been a goner when he accelerated 30 yards from the dumpster. So ABC hyped this show up by saying someone would die. Thanks for killing two characters off that I haven’t seen in months.
For all of you March Madness Bracketologists out there, Widmore vs Ben is a lock for the LOST National Championship Game.
Again, Michael Emerson (Ben) shows why he is the best actor on the show. That scene where Ben asks Michael if he accepts the mission to kill everyone evil on the freighter, was an excellent example of Emerson’s excellent acting. I like when Ben tells Michael, “Then consider yourself one of the good guys.” As usual, Ben knows how to manipulate people based upon affection. Ben has Karl and Danielle killed so that the only person Alex has any type of love for is him. How great of a job does Ben do manipulating Michael? Ben makes Michael feel guilty for killing Anna Lucia and Libby, and explains how awful Michael will feel if he allows those on the island to be murdered. This forces Michael to help Ben out.
Poor Michael, he just wants that pain in the ass Walt back. Michael is living a pretty rough life these days. Ben owns him. He feels guilty for Anna and Libby. And he has to complete a ridiculous mission, when all he wants to do is blow his brains out. I am interested in seeing what relevance that bomb is going to have in the final few episodes. The same bomb that said “Not Yet” as Michael tried to detonate it, killing himself and everyone else on the freighter. It’s kind of funny that Sayid whines about Michael working for Ben, but Sayid works for Ben in the flashforward.
Libby coming back in Michael’s mind was interesting. I think this has something to do with Jacob. We will hopefully find out this element of the show by the end of the season. I still think that Jacob is Jack’s father. One of those dumb supernatural elements allowed him to manifest on the island.
I was mad about an 8/10 when Sayid ruined the whole episode by telling Keamy that Michael was the mole, and also a survivor of Oceanic 815. I am interested to see how this is all going to play out.
Some Questions
Who shot Libby and Danielle? I don’t think Danielle is dead.
Who does Ben consider innocent on the freighter? Miles, Lepidus, and Farraday?
How does the island prevent people from suicide?
There weren’t too many over the top, take my breath, OMG moments tonight.
However, I am looking forward to the final episodes of the season. It stinks that we have to wait a month for another episode. I believe that the remaining episodes are going to go explain how everybody gets off of the island. I am very interested to see how powerful both Ben and Widmore are. This war that is going to take place to end the season is going to spectacular to watch. From here on out, we will see Ben’s people battle Widmore’s people with hopes of gaining control of the island. It is going to be out of control.
Walt
PS. I loved Minkowski’s Shining reference. “You going Nicholson on me?”
Sorry this is short. I have been watching basketball all day and trying to recover from the kidney stone surgery. I am feeling much better, and actually look forward to class on Monday. Weird. Enjoy your weekend people. Good luck on your brackets. Remember, I’m one of the good guys.
