Cavs Corner

What’s up everyone? I wanted to post a quick entry with my thoughts on the Cavs. I have also decided to purchase www.kardiackeith.com I thought it would be much easier for readers to remember. My last name is longer than most, and it usually gives people problems when attempting to spell it. Sorry this entry is short, I just want to be able to reflect on my thoughts about the 2008 Cleveland Cavaliers. Tuesday, when the series is tied at two, and we all believe again, I will post a lengthy entry that I have been looking forward to doing. In the next entry, I will do a top 5 list (suggestions please), I will make you a Lil Wayne fan, and I will also talk about the NBA Playoffs. I might even touch on Joe Montana’s (“He’s into acting now?”) love letters that he is suing his ex wife over. You can read about that here. Let’s go Cavs!!! RISE UP!!!!!

Talk about a jinx. I said this series would highlight the legendary figure that LBJ will looked at down the road. I might want to delete that entry. This series so far, has highlighted the worst three game playoff shooting performance in NBA history. Anyways, I know the Cavs are down 2-1, but can someone explain to me why we should be worried? Let’s dissect what’s happened so far.

Game 1: Cavs shoot 31% from the floor. LBJ shoots 2 – 18. The game is close for 47 minutes, and if LBJ flushes the lay up he missed to tie the game, the Cavs could be up 1 – 0. I know Ray Allen and Paul Pierce played bad, but so did we. I thought we gave a great effort on the road, and blew an opportunity to show Boston who the defending Eastern Conference champs were.

Game 2: This game made me sick. Yeah we were on the road, but that’s never an excuse for a team to give up. We did just that in Boston. I thought the mentality of the Cavaliers was shot, and this series was going to be a quick one. LBJ shot 6 – 24 from the field, and was now shooting 8 for 42 in the series. As a team we shot 36%, and couldn’t do much of anything correct. However, let’s not forget one thing. The Cavs blew an eight point lead in the second quarter. We went through one bad stretch, and it cost us the game. What if the Cavs don’t blow the lead, and aren’t outscored 36 – 10 in the second quarter?

Game 3: The Cavs faced their bigger test of the season. I was nervous to see how the Cavs would respond being down 2-0. Judging by the way game two was played, I felt their confidence was broken, we had given up, and we were going to roll over and die. Then something weird happened. The newly acquired supporting cast came to play. If West, Wallace, Smith, and Wally play like as well as they did in game three, Boston might be in trouble. LBJ had another awful shooting performance, and we blew this team out. Mike Brown also needs to be commended for his defensive strategy. Instead of allowing one of the big three to beat the Cavs, he forced an inexperienced guard in Rajon Rondo to hoist shots all evening. Rondo shot 3 – 10. How rocking was the Q? The best fans in sports stood behind our struggling basketball team, and we all once again believe. This time, the Cavs got out to a quick lead and never looked back.

So I look at it like this. If the Cavs supporting cast can make shots, and we can limit turnovers, and play average defense, the Cavaliers are going to win this series. What happens when LBJ gets going? I swear, Boston is going to be in some serious trouble. Are you still worried about this Boston team Cavs fans? This is going to be a back and forth battle of two titans. I still like the Cavs in 7. We are a more battle tested team, that doesn’t fear pressure, or playing with our backs against the wall.

Tune Time…Cleveland Style…Yes, “Cleveland Rocks” has to make the list

    Keith,

I am a huge fan of the new Vitamin Water commercial with Lebron playing an attorney. What about a top 5 list of best commercials involving athletes? Just a thought.

  3. Dave W Says:

“LeBron James with no regard for human life” This was just the latest comment on a long list of references to LBJ’s dunks made by announcers. What is it about the king that makes announcers lose their mind and say the weirdest stuff on live television. This may be hard Keith, but I am feeling a top 5 in game comments ever made about the “L-Train”

Flight number 23 set for takeoff!!!

  5. Billy Says:

Dave, that call was actually made in reference to LeBron’s $10 tip on his $800 tab.

You asked in the last blog what we have to worry about, yeah I am a little behind I know. Even if the Cavs can squeak past the Celtics can we really hang against a West coast team? I know I’m not the only one that sees this. The Lakers, Spurs etc. move the ball 50 times better than the Cavs and one word Kobe.
Don’t get me wrong I love the Cavs. I want them to win but its not going to be just because we have LBJ.
