You All Everybody!! What’s up LOST fans? I hope everyone enjoyed this episode. I thought it was one of the better ones this season. Season 4, 5 episodes in, has undoubtedly been the best so far. I will be shocked if this season finale is a let down. That is the only thing that could deter from this season. Again, If you need a little refresh on some of the things that happened last night, please checkout to make things a little less cloudy. I will also trying to explain what is going in my own word. Have a good weekend everybody. Spring break in Mentor…how fun. Thanks Dave for all of your help and advice. You are second to none in the the television category.
Remember, What I type down here are the way I saw things and what I think. You can read the summary for what actually took place.
(Deep breath). Alright, I am going to try and write this out as clearly as I possible. I know you all remember seeing Desmond freaking out last night several times in the episode. I thought that there were two reasons for him losing his mind The first was the storm or possible wormhole. The second was Desmond’s abnormal exposure to radiation (When hatch opens, in helicopter). These were both triggers that caused him to struggle with his current state of consciousness. Desmond struggling with his current state of consciousness works as followed from my perspective. When we see Desmond on the freighter, he is mentally going back to 1996. Desmond truthfully believes that he is living his life in 1996, when he was in the army. Desmond freaks out in real life (on freighter) because he thinks that it is 1996 and he is not supposed to be there, thus making him go crazy. Now, when Desmond is shown from 1996, or in the army, he is capable of seeing the future. Notice how Desmond is having that dream about being on a helicopter in the future, when he is in the army. This is how Desmond was able to see the fate of Charlie before it took place. Basically when Desmond’s mind goes back and forth between times, it makes him go crazy. There is only one way to stop Desmond from going crazy, putting too much stress on the mind, and killing himself. This solution is called the constant, or the anchor. George Minkowski did not have this anchor or constant that Desmond did, and we saw him die in this episode. Fortunately for Desmond, he has the constant or anchor he needs to live. PENNY!!!!!!! Once Desmond follows the steps of Daniel, he is eventually synced with reality, and mentally stable.
Daniel Faraday is capable of communicating with Desmond because of the journal he writes in. This journal is done because Faraday forgets nearly everything he learns. Remember the three playing cards last week? Faraday has experienced some of the same things that Desmond has, and that is why Desmond is the constant if anything goes wrong. I think Faraday has bad memory due to his exposure to radiation, or possibly that laser he was using on the mouse during the episode.
Now do you believe me? Widmore is behind many of the things that take place on the island. He is the funder of Dharma That explains why he bids so much money for a book that has never been read before. Widmore knows that if he is the highest bidder, the book will give him the directions of getting to the island. This also explains why people on the boat are told to not answer any calls from Penelope Widmore. She knows everything about the island.
The main questions from tonights episode :
Who is Ben’s man on the boat?
Who is Desmond and Sayid’s friend that opens the door?
Who and why was the radio room all messed up?
Who or what would your constant be? Leave it in the comments section.

perhaps not so much a wormhole…but I do believe that what Desmond and Minikowski went through is the sickness that Rousseau has been talking about since season 1…that’s why Kelvin wore the hazmat suit and so on…but it’s good to see things like the black rock come up and that yes…Widmore is behind the whole thing…but I don’t think (and I’m sure you don’t think) that that is the clear cut answer for who is on the boat…
I also don’t think Minkowski is dead…Fisher Stevens is a well known actor…he was fucking The Plague in Hackers…so why would he sign on to be a voice on a phone and then up and die on the freighter…unless we see him in more flashbacks I would say he could be the next Mikhail or however you spell it…

Chenz good call on the sickness from season one. I still think that the Island is in a wormhole as it is the theoretical pathway for time travel. This wormhole allows the past present and future to coexist on the island. This may be a bit of a stretch but here it goes. In the previews for next weeks episode, Faraday seems to be trying to conduct some sort of nuclear experiment. Maybe he is trying to travel through time and if he is, my guess would be that he could be going back to do something to Ben in an effort to prevent his takeover of the island.

another note…what if the inhabitants of the island use this time travel to correct the mistakes of their past…
