LOST - Season 4 - Episode 4 - Eggtown

Hello everybody. This is the weekly LOST blog about the episode “Eggtown” airing on Thursday February 21, 2008. I am going to assume that you saw the episode, but if you didn’t, please click here for a summary. http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Eggtown

Eggtown was an average episode. I thought that it was definitely the worst of Season 4. The show once again presented the viewer with even more questions. I will just talk about some of the thoughts I have and leave you with some questions to think about.

The Kate flashforward was very interesting. One thing that I think many people overlooked was the deal Kate agreed to, to stay out of prison. (Probation for ten years, and can’t leave the state). This deal is going to prevent Kate from going back to the island for whatever reason Her and Jack need to go back. Jack saying that there were only eight survivors of the Oceanic flight 815 was pretty interesting. I wonder what his reasoning is. We learn in the flashforward that Claire’s daughter, Aaron is parented by Kate after they are off of the island. I think that Claire is one of the characters that die in the end of the season.

I think that Jack does not want to see Kate’s child because he feels guilty of something that took place in the past. Maybe he feels guilty that he could not save Aaron’s mother’s life (Claire) when everyone gets off of the island and she croaks.

I think this episode answered who “him” is in regards to Kate’s conversation with Jack, in the final episode of season three. “I have to get back to him,” Kate says to Jack. The him is Aaron.

Sawyer referring to Miles as Bruce Lee from the freighter was a priceless one liner.

I wonder what Locke’s deal will be in the end. I think that he is left on the island, but geez is he going nuts. It is only a matter of time until most of his followers turn on him. It is real cool to see Ben manipulate Locke.

That is all for today. This was pretty much a set up episode for the next two weeks. We need to learn who is on that damn boat. I hate episodes like this because it strings out answering all of the major questions that we have been dying to know.

Questions and some predictions I have

Is Aaron considered one of the Oceanic 6?

This one can go either way, but I am going to say no. He doesn’t seem like a big enough character to have such a coveted spot.

Who is Miles working for?

Widmore or Oceanic is my guess

Why does Miles want $3.2 million? And how does he know Ben could give him that much?

Who are the eight origianl survivors of the crash?

Sayid, Jack, Hurley, Kate, Jin, Sun, Sawyer (stays on island or dies), Claire (dies)

What’s the deal with Daniel having the memory of a dog?

Who are the last members of Oceanic 6?

I think that it is pretty apparent. We saw them both in tonight’s episode.

I heard that LOST might be creating an extra 4 episodes despite the writers strike. Have you heard anything about this?

Hey buddy. Thanks for the question. We need a Jack evening soon. Not a Jack Sheperd evening, a Jack Daniels evening. There will be a total of thirteen episodes this season. There will be eight episodes aired in consecutive weeks. Then there will be a two week break, and the final five episodes will be show. There was slated to be sixteen episodes. The creators have promised to make future season longer to make up for these three episodes.

Hey KJ…one interesting thing i have noticed the past couple weeks is that in each of the past couple episodes, there has been a scene near the middle of the episode that foreshadows the last scene of the episode. Last week it was Ben and Sayid who turn out to form and unlikely alliance. This week it was Kate and Claire when they were doing laundry. Claire asked Kate to take Aaron for a second, and later said in reference to motherhood, “you should give it a try sometime.” I thought it was hinting at a potential child with Sawyer but it was much simpler…try being Aaron’s mom. For all you readers out there who like to call the ending before it happens, pay attention to the middle one on one scene of the episode and make a prediction without over thinking yourself. This leads me to a question Kieth…if you have time, look back at the first two episodes of the season to see if this is a true pattern or if this is just some coincidence I am overexagerating.

Well I realized this at the bar tonight…Aaron is Jack’s nephew. Remember Christian rolling down under to meet his daughter Claire. So Jack’s sis Claire dies and he cant handle seeing his nephew being brought up by kate because it reminds him of his father….this is some lock tight shit unlike my wormhole crap…even though the wormhole stuff is true
