Just a little quote by a father figure of mine named Dave Matthews. (keep reading, I’m not that weird) I have been meaning to start a blog for sometime now, and have had some free time to do just that. I will be covering a wide variety of topics. I have decided that I will mainly focus on current issues within the media, sports, music, movies,poker, and daily top stories. Basically, a heavy dose of pop culture is on the way. I am not sure where I am headed with this whole blog thing. However, I thought it would be neat to reflect on life ten or twenty years from now by having it documented on the web. With all that being said, allow me to introduce my self…My name is Hov…oh wait (Jay-z reference for most people who didn’t have a clue). Pay attention, sneaky references to other aspects of pop culture will be made time and time again.

If you are reading this right now, chances are you already know me. For the new people that don’t, too bad. My name is Keith and I am a 22 year old student at Bowling Green State University. I am currently studying sport management with an emphasis in marketing. I don’t have a clue of what I want to do when I get out of school. (year and a half) Pro scrabble player, wedding crasher, magician all sound like they suit my degree well. The things listed above are the things I enjoy. I love playing poker, Cleveland sports…get the jokes out of the way now, Music…I will go in much more depth later in the post about everything. Now we have gotten the bullshit out of the way, lets begin blogging.

Sports…Random thoughts on the NFL Playoffs and the Cleveland Browns

I am going to begin by talking a little bit about sports. I am obviously going to start in Cleveland, and touch on the Browns season. I mean what can you say, 10 wins and you don’t make the playoffs? Standard in this town. Win 10 games in the NFC and the Browns host a playoff game. No complaints though. For a team expected to finish last in the division, I think the Browns opened a lot of eyes to the naysayers around the league and over at ESPN. My family has had season tickets for nearly 35 years, and I have been born and bred a Cleveland Browns fan. I am fortunate enough to have a grandmother that ensures me tickets to all ten home games every year. Before my grandfather passed away, he always wanted to make sure that the legacy of the Cleveland Browns stayed within our family. I have been the lucky one to get to carry the torch. Thanks Papa. I will probably talk about the Browns in almost every entry I make, next time I will focus on the future of the Cleveland Browns. I have some wild thoughts about the off season that include Terrell Suggs and an overvalued QB.

PLAYOFFS!!! Don’t talk about PLAYOFFS!!! You kiddin me PLAYOFFS!!!!

The NFL playoffs kicked off yesterday and 2/4 games were played for the weekend. I love the playoffs, you know that feeling you get when wake up on Christmas morning?…yea thats me. I’d use the word giddy, but another idol of mine seems to use that word frequently (Bill Simmons). The first game took place in Seattle where the Seahawks destroyed Washington back up QB Todd Collins and won the game 35-14. As a gambler, how could you have ever bet against Seattle at home? Hasselbeck is now 22-3 at home, and Seattle is possibly the toughest stadium in the NFL to play in. Not to mention Michigan legend Todd Collins. Watch the interception he throws where he thinks hes playing jackpot. It has to make you laugh. How many times have you heard his name in his 13 year NFL career??? it’s ok, I’ll wait. +30 units

The second game pissed me off because Jacksonville (-3) didn’t cover. On the bright side, I pretty much paid $50 for the Steelers to get bounced out of the Playoffs. Good game Big Ben. Not only did the media hype the Jaguars up, they were also correct. I won’t go much into this game due to the fact that Sportscenter will be on for 12 hours today, and I am sure you can see the highlights for yourself. -50 units
